Here are some of our frequently asked questions. If you don't see the answer to your question, please use the contact page to reach us. This email is monitored daily and we usually get back to questions within a few hours.

 

 Are you still open during the COVID-19 outbreak?

Yes! Though our studio is closed to the public, we are still making jewelry and filling orders.

 

When will my order ship?

Our shipping regularity has been disrupted by the COVID-19 outbreak, but we are still shipping orders out in 2-3 business days. To minimize trips to the post office, orders are batched into two deliveries per week. When social distancing orders are lifted, we will be able to resume our regular shipping schedule, which is next day processing and shipment.


What is 14k gold fill? 

14k gold fill is the next best thing to solid 14k gold, at 1/10th the price. Gold fill is 14k gold mechanically bonded to brass. This bond is permanent, and the gold will never chip off. To learn how to care for 14k gold fill, check out our jewelry care page.

 

I can't picture how big millimeters are. Help me understand 3mm, 5mm, etc?

Here are some household approximations to help understand stone sizes:

3mm - a large pinhead

4mm - a peppercorn

5mm - a lentil

6mm - width of a pencil eraser

8mm - a green pea

10mm - width of a flat thumbtack


 

Do you take special orders?

We take special orders for chain length, size, and out of stock colors when possible. We do not take custom orders for designs outside of the Mineral + Mine collection.

 

Can I order a different length chain?

Usually yes! Use the contact page to reach us for a special order.

 

Can I order a different size ring?

It depends on the ring. We can always take special orders for sizes on our stacking rings and wire-wrapped gemstone rings. For finished gemstone statement rings, we can not resize the band but sometimes we can size up by about 1/4-1/2 size. Use the contact page to reach us about the ring you're interested in.

 

Can you repair my jewelry?

We will make repairs on any piece of Mineral + Mine jewelry. Depending on the nature of the repair, charges may apply. To get in touch with us about your repair, please use the contact page. We do not do repairs on any jewelry made by other artists.

 

Where can I shop for your jewelry in person?

Our studio in Aspen has the largest selection of Mineral + Mine jewelry. Typically we are open weekdays 10-4, though our studio is currently closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We plan to reopen to the public as soon as travel and distancing restrictions are lifted. We also stock select boutiques around the country, which are listed here.

 

I saw a Mineral + Mine style that is not on the website; where do I find it?

We can not always get every single piece posted online - either it sells before it's listed, or we haven't gotten a chance to photograph and list it yet. Use the contact page to reach us about the piece you're looking for - a photo helps!

 

Can I order more than the quantity available online?

Typically yes, as long as we can get the quantity of materials needed for your order. Use the contact page to reach us about this.
